These optional flash RAM sticks might simply go in the same slots as standard RAM, swapping volatile with non-volatile. We could always load from a USB drive into RAM and it takes roughly the time posted above.
Or it could be that it takes time to load flash initially, but from then on it's instantly available. It's possible the information posted above is less than accurate. It makes no sense that it would take so long to load from flash. Is it my understanding that the new Motif can't access the flash direct and it needs to load into the usual RAM? Maybe because the access time is too slow?
I thought whole purpose of the flash was that it was instant.
